NCP Manchester 'keeper Phil Davis has had a transfer request accepted by manager Gary Kerrigan and the veteran is set to move to Birmingham outfit 'Back Inter Bryan FC' with a view to a permanent contract. Davis, who has two months remaining on his current contract will leave at the end of june on a 'Bosman free'. Richard Summerfield says: "We're delighted to have him (Davis)and he'll be available from the start of the new season, hopefully we'll be promoted to division three by then, if not it'll be on him to help us get up there but he'll have to compete for his place just like everybody else." Davis had this to say:"Well, it's a good move for me, you know...I need a new challenge and it could be said that it has gone a little stale for me in Manchester, I still love it there but I feel that a promtion charge is what I'm up for now and I know I can compete at this level." Davis used to play for AFC Longbridge in the Birmingham leisure-league Premier division and will be setting his sights on ragaining his former glory in Selly Oak where he helped his home-town side win the league twice.

NCP MANCHESTER 0-2 GALA FC
Free-Wheeler
Gala FC left a second-string NCP team for dead last night on the Hazel Grove Dis-astroturf as Dan Wheeler bagged a second half brace to push Gala back up to third and leave NCP lingering a mediocre eighth place.
NCP Manchester were without player/manager Gary Kerrigan, all-time leading goalscorer Dean Polhill and second highest goalscorer Luke Moriarty so in stepped Neil Pugh, Simon Heys and Nathan Guest to play alongside Sam Simpson, Abbassy Niyongabo and stand-in captain, goalkeeper Phil Davis who had a busy evening against Dan Wheeler: "Yes, he's quite a handful, we did okay in the first half I made a few decent stops and the lads hit him pretty sweet but we just faded towards the end and he beat me with two sucker punches." Davis looked like he literally had been punched due to a nasty astro-turf burn on his face when Wheeler landed on top of him. "No hard feelings, it was an accident, Neil's (Pugh) shoved him and he's fallen on me, but I was never going to be on the cover of Vogue though..."
It's the first time that Gala have scored against NCP in five meetings and the result leaves the Manchester outfit in dire need of a win next sunday against The Reform Club.

Mocking britains press
POLISH IMMIGRANTS AND OUR PIGEONS IN CAHOOTS!Expect to start being affected by negative press from our tabloids such as the following story which I've obviously made up.
Polish immigrants have been arriving in Great Britain in their droves to cash in on our quality of life, as we have a far stronger economy. It's not uncommon to have your Rover 800 washed by a team of "puzchkow's" or Polish car-wash workers, then if you are hungry from a hard day's real work you may buy a sandwich from one of the many cheap sandwich shops that Poles run and then you drive safely to your home built by Polish builders. Fine, on the surface but what's really going on?
The leftovers of the sandwich that you bought is eaten by scavenging
pigeons and the poor quality high in fat remnants make the pigeons defaecate all over your car! You need to get it washed. Who's going to wash it? That's right the Poles are, the same ones who made your sandwich, do you even know if that was real 'chicken' in your sandwich? And to think that you helped to feed that pigeon and paid money to the sandwich maker and the "puzchkow"who cleaned up the aftermath of your innocent mistake. Polish immigrants are gradually making a fortune out of you, whilst laughing all the way to the bank, of course there is no real evidence for any of this but it's probably true. Should we send them all back? Have your say, txt 55512: a)KEEP THE PROSTITUTE ONES or b)DEFINATELY BIN THEM ALL OFF
This was a piss-take out of the british press, not against polish people.

HISTORY OF NCP MANCHESTER FC
' SPARTAK-KARPARK FOOTBALL CLUB'
The first ever game that Spartak-Karpark (later re-named NCP Manchester for sponsorship rights purposes)played, indeed the first time they were even on a pitch together, as no training, trials or practice took place; was against the Hazel Grove Leisure-leagues defending champions 'Barcelona' who only needed a point to reclaim their title, which they did with ease, winning 6-2. Player/Manager Phil Davis was awarded man of the match, it was a learning curve but the team quickly gained interest and new players came and went. Acting Player/Manager Phil Davis was eager to get a coach involved to take over the running of the team, Andrew Page suggested that Control Room Operator Gary Kerrigan was the right man for the job: "He's bossy, confident, loud and used to be a semi-professional in the Salford pub-league's." said Page, "He sounds perfect, let's get him on board." But it was to be months before Kerrigan signed as a series of crippling injuries and pathetic excuses hindered proceedings.
Davis was the subject of ridicule as he gave anyone he knew a chance in the team: John 'The Millenium' Forkan (High st), Andy Walsh (RRU), Steve Boyle (Printworks), Jay Standrig (Printworks/SKIDATA) Steve Lazyboy, Mark Critchley (Team-Leader), Lee Copplestone, Neil Pugh (GMP), Colin Wright and his nephew Tim (Control Room Team Leader), Andy Skinner, Dave Chapman, Tim Kelly (SKIDATA), Iain Morley, Jason Jones (Cashroom), Iwan Williams (Phase Two), Lee Francis (Arena), Craig Gardner (GMex), Andy Davidson, Paul Hughes, Tom Purser, Mark Parfitt (Davis' legal attorney),Diego, Little Chris, Slim and on went the list.
'NCP MANCHESTER FOOTBALL CLUB'
In april 2007 having 'won' the wooden spoon for finishing bottom Davis handed the reigns of Manager over to Kerrigan, following Davis' second win in charge against rivals Jolly Sailors FC: "I'm stepping down to concentrate on my game, we won tonight so I feel as though I'm leaving on a high (despite being bottom) I'm a goalkeeper not a manager."
'THE BARRY HIBBS MEMORIAL TROPHY' LONDON, AUGUST 2007
Kerrigan's first season in charge saw a dramatic change in fortunes for "The Bee's" with their, now infamous, strip of yellow and black stripes to reflect their carparking-authority-themed business nature (Thanks to Colin Wright and Paddy Dyson) and the arrival of superstar striker Dean Pohill. NCP Manchester went unbeaten for nine games without conceding a single goal as they finished a respectable seventh place and booked their place in Barnet, North London for the Barry Hibbs Memorial NCP Sevices Challenge Cup Trophy on a baking-hot afternoon in the nations capital. It was a great occasion, sadly NCP Manchester were eliminated by NCP Fulham in the knockout stages in a dramatic penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw. Critchley missed his spot-kick after a great save by Davis had given NCP Manchester the advantage, then player/Manager Gary Kerrigan saw his effort agonisingly blocked by the Fulham 'keeper to send the northerners crashing out! squad; 1:Davis 2:Kerrigan 3:Simpson 4:Niyongabo 5:Polhill 13:Wright 15:Noble
Despite being bitterly disapointed, Kerrigan professed himself happy with the performance in London and believed that the squad had benefitted and galvanised whilst away, becoming a better unit in the process. This was reflected with the team's best ever display in their domestic league as they finished third in the premier division, at one stage they looked like winning the league until a heart-breaking 0-0 draw against rivals Jolly Sailor's ended their title hopes!
'THE WILLOW CUP' IN AMSTERDAM, MARCH 2008
Thanks to player/business co-ordinator Mark Parfitt, NCP Manchester made their european football debut in the Netherlands at the close of the season, as they competed for their first silverware in the shape of cancer charity trophy, the Willow Cup, founded by Bob Wilson.
Unfortunately NCP were beaten 4-1 by Interserve from County Durham and lost again by the same scoreline to Search Technology of Bracknell which included conceding a goal from the opposing goalkeeper, one Phil Davis will not relish chatting about considering that he also picked up his first yellow card of his life in that game! However the team picked themselves up for their final match in group D with a much stronger performance despite losing 0-1 to champions Airbus UK of Bristol. squad:1:Davis 22:Parfitt 3:Simpson 4:Niyongabo 5:Polhill
Hello
http://anthraxpelican.blogspot.com/ I currently reside in the Costa Del Salford on the cusp of Manchester but, as of June, I will be back in Birmingham for life apparently! This blog will be used as a football news (soccer for those of you who call it that) blog and anything else I wish to discuss. On the right is the 6-a-side football team that I began in Manchester working for National Carparks. With the help from Andrew Page, amongst others, we have gone from strength to strength to Stockport to London to Amsterdam.
