NCP MANCHESTER 0-2 GALA FC

Free-Wheeler

Gala FC left a second-string NCP team for dead last night on the Hazel Grove Dis-astroturf as Dan Wheeler bagged a second half brace to push Gala back up to third and leave NCP lingering a mediocre eighth place.
NCP Manchester were without player/manager Gary Kerrigan, all-time leading goalscorer Dean Polhill and second highest goalscorer Luke Moriarty so in stepped Neil Pugh, Simon Heys and Nathan Guest to play alongside Sam Simpson, Abbassy Niyongabo and stand-in captain, goalkeeper Phil Davis who had a busy evening against Dan Wheeler: "Yes, he's quite a handful, we did okay in the first half I made a few decent stops and the lads hit him pretty sweet but we just faded towards the end and he beat me with two sucker punches." Davis looked like he literally had been punched due to a nasty astro-turf burn on his face when Wheeler landed on top of him. "No hard feelings, it was an accident, Neil's (Pugh) shoved him and he's fallen on me, but I was never going to be on the cover of Vogue though..."
It's the first time that Gala have scored against NCP in five meetings and the result leaves the Manchester outfit in dire need of a win next sunday against The Reform Club.
